Kim Keyes, M.S. MFT – IT

Marriage and Family Therapist - In Training

Kim (she/her/hers) has experience providing individual and couples counseling in clinical and community settings. Kim has earned undergraduate degrees in biology and photography, and her master’s degree from Edgewood College. Kim has worked with individuals managing crisis and transition, anxiety, depression, and trauma issues, as well as couples managing communication, life transitions, and neurodivergence in their relationship. Kim’s area of focus includes working with consensual non-monogamy clients on developing skills to successfully navigate their preferred relationship structure.

Kim approaches therapy as a collaborative process driven by curiosity and compassion unique to each individual and couple she works with. Through connection and interaction, Kim helps clients discover new and inspiring ways to navigate the obstacles preventing them from experiencing life to its fullest.  She incorporates aspects of Emotion-Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Mindfulness techniques into her sessions. In Kim’s work with couples, she includes assessments and intervention strategies using the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy.

As a therapist, Kim combines her experience, education, creativity, and sense of humor with a down-to-earth, realistic approach to counseling. She strives to create a relaxed and non-judgmental therapy space and supports persons of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations, and relationship structures. As an MFT-IT at Psychology Associates Kim provides individual and couples therapy for adolescents and adults.
